Director's Foreword

The first time I encountered the world of Michael Boyd, I remember being struck by the clarity of his visionary ideal, which is the modernist ideal of the 20th century. His ability to realize the ideal in tangible form is rooted in a rational and functional modernism, but is also a personal expression that transcends historical precedent. His vision and worldview drive a conversation about modernism and form, a conversation in which I am eager to engage, and one that will continue for years to come.
